The first step in the process is for one of our Project Directors and a Designer to come to your current workplace and meet with you to discuss your plans, aims and objectives. This will involve discussing the type of environment you want to create, whether in a new building or in your existing space, and what is important to you as an organisation in terms of space planning and interior design. We will also try to ascertain a reasonable budget for the project so that we base all of our future designs and proposals at the right financial level for you.
The meeting is an opportunity for you to tell us what you want and for us to understand what you need and will take approximately 1-2 hours. Following that our team will begin the design and specification process and we aim to turn around designs and a proposal within 7 days of first seeing you.
The aim of our first meeting with you is to give us enough information to be able to present some initial designs for your consideration. In most cases these designs will be a 3D representation of the space (see our case studies for examples) as we feel this gives you the best opportunity to really understand what things will look like and how the space will function from a practical perspective.
At this stage the Designer allocated to your project will lead the process. They will invite you to attend an online meeting where you will be able to view their screen and design your space with them, this will ensure that the layout is exactly how you want it. You can also see (for your own piece of mind) how things fit and that all options have been tried. You will then arrive at a layout that not only works, but is also perfect to your specifications.
Once you are comfortable with the design we create a fully itemised proposal for the works and will talk you through the price so that you understand what the project is costing and where the money is being spent.
If you decide you want use us as your partner in the project, and give us a verbal appointment, there are a few steps we need to go through before you can sign an order with us. In most cases we need to prepare documentation for your landlords and solicitors for the licence to alter document (your permission to carry out the works) aswell as preparing the necessary Health & Safety documentation to conform to CDM Regulations 2007. Health & Safety during any proposed works is of paramount importance and we will ensure that you are fully aware of your responsibilities and what is required before we can start work.
We will also finalise all of the designs and specifications and ensure that you know exactly what we are doing and that all of the proposed works comply with the local Building Control office regulations. Finally, we will send you a detailed document explaining exactly how our process works and how the project will actually happen so you feel comfortable with everything that is happening on your behalf.
Once you have signed an order with us, our process for carrying out the works will begin. We will appoint a Project Manager and a Project Administrator for the duration of the works. The Project Administrator is your day to day contact for anything you require and for keeping you up to date with the progress of the Project.
We will also appoint a site supervisor who will be on site for the majority of the works to monitor Health & Safety and Security. Some of our clients like to come to site regularly to check on the progress of the works and some do not attend site at all, preferring to wait for the big unveiling. Ultimately the choice is yours and the important thing to remember is that from this point on, we take total responsibility for the management and delivery of the finished product.
Once the Project is completed, we will carry out a Practical Completion which is the point at which you take back control of your site and the works officially finish. At CCT we aim for a “snag free" Practical Completion on all of our projects and this is our opportunity to show off your new office to you and your colleagues.
As a CCT client, you are automatically enrolled onto our OIS Aftercare program which provides a dedicated helpline and maintenance service for clients whenever they need additional work and non-warranty based support. Many of our clients continue to use this service until they move office again and this our opportunity to maintain our relationship with you during the intervening years.
